The past owners of this card can be traced back to the LA Kings owner Bruce McNall, Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, and finally the shopping conglomerate Wal-Mart. Other than these personages and corporations the T206 Honus Wagner was also owned by a Las Vegas casino owner. This enterprising individual displayed the Honus Wagner card at the Ronald Regan Presidential Library and at various baseball games.

The T206 Honus Wagner card was finally sold by the Las Vegas owner in February 2007. The selling price was doubled at what he bought the card for. Part of the value of this card may be attributed to the better quality of this baseball card as compared to many others. The various owners of this baseball card of Honus Wagner have kept the card safely within Lucite sheeting. For all of these many reasons you can see why a card like that of the Honus Wagner card can be thought of as being the pinnacle of baseball card collecting.
